The demonstration illustrates the wrap process and operator-fed format. It is not a substitute for measuring placement across a consecutive production-condition sample.

Pick and orient

The operator selects the correct container and presents it consistently to the support or roller arrangement.

Locate the pack

Container stops, guides or visual references must place each bottle at the same axial position before the cycle.

Trigger the cycle

The approved control method starts rotation and label application. The operator must remain outside any prohibited access area.

Remove and inspect

The operator removes the pack, checks label and code, and separates any unit that does not meet the agreed acceptance method.

Maintain supply

Label roll changes, coding consumables and unlabelled/labelled pack presentation affect sustained output.

Record deviations

Repeated skew, missed labels or poor wrap contact should be escalated and investigated rather than corrected by uncontrolled adjustment.

Measure operator-dependent output under stated conditions.

Provide

  • Filled production containers from the format extremes.
  • Final label rolls and any coding consumables.
  • Expected batch size and changeover pattern.
  • Required label and code inspection.
  • Workstation and pack-handling method.

Record

  • Operator method and number of operators.
  • Run length, accepted packs and rejects.
  • Label roll and coding replenishment.
  • Placement and wrap-quality measurements.
  • Stop, restart and first-off approval.

Workstation evidence

Include loading, inspection and material handling in the trial result.

On a semi-automatic wraparound labeller, the machine cycle is only one part of the production method. Sustainable output also depends on how the operator receives unlabelled packs, presents each container, removes the labelled pack and completes the required inspection.

Observe during the demonstration

  • Whether the container seats in the same position without rocking or axial movement.
  • Whether the operator can keep hands clear of moving parts and use the approved trigger method.
  • Whether the label starts consistently and wraps without creasing, trapping or visible slip.
  • Whether labelled packs can be removed without rubbing or damaging the newly applied label.
  • Whether the workstation supports a repeatable pick, place, cycle, remove and inspect rhythm.

Include in a longer trial

  • A representative batch rather than one selected container.
  • Normal roll replenishment, coding consumable handling and approved changeover tasks.
  • First-off checks after a pause or operator change.
  • Accepted output, reject causes and rework rather than theoretical cycles alone.
  • Operator feedback on reach, visibility, pack staging and fatigue-related consistency.

Define the boundary between bench and automatic handling

A semi-automatic machine can be appropriate where batch size, format variety or available space favours operator loading. Where the required result depends on continuous infeed, automatic spacing or connection to upstream and downstream equipment, review the automatic versus semi-automatic guide and the compact automatic labeller.
